This page is dedicated to the resources available to ECS students in regards to mental and physical well-being. Whilst this page includes resources that may be available to all students regardless of their department, some are limited to ECS students only (like the ECS Senior Advisor, or Senior Tutor). If you are not a member of ECS and are not sure who to contact, please reach out to your PAT, the Student Hub, or the Advice Center.
One of the most important people you will meet while you are a student at Southampton is your Personal Academic Tutor, who will be allocated to you for your arrival at the University and who is normally a member of academic staff in your own or a closely related subject area. Your Personal Academic Tutor will offer one-to-one support and advice throughout your time at the University, and will support you in your studies or with other issues you may have.
Contact them for any of the following:
- choices of options for your programme;
- sharing and getting support for personal issues that may affect your studies;
- signpost you in the right direction if you have queries outside of their knowledge;
Your PAT should email you at the start of your academic programme. If you don't know who that person is, you can find them by going to Banner > Student Services > Student Records.
